Notice to Large Groups and Gatherings
Due to a number of serious incidences in the Gardens, which caused criminal damage to property and plants and are linked to large meet up groups arranged through social media, The Jubilee Gardens Trust has decided to suspend permission for these groups, as well as large gatherings.
Giant Tetris Game Lights up the Shell Building from Jubilee Gardens
On Thursday 11th December 2014, the riverside windows of the Shell Centre in London’s South Bank were transformed – live and unannounced - into a giant computer game using hundreds of light bulbs. The Tetris-style game was the spectacular finale to the first programme in a demonstration packed CHRISTMAS LECTURES series called ‘Sparks will fly: How to hack your home’ filmed at the Royal Institution of Great Britain and due to air on UK TV this Christmas.
Notice to Dog Owners
As reported by community website London SE1, damage to trees caused by dog owners training their animals for illegal fights has been a growing problem across the UK in recent years. The Jubilee Gardens Trust has put protective material around the trunks of several trees after bark was stripped away, putting the trees at risk.
